In a game that looks to be fairly one sided comes this week, the Catalans Grizzlys (3-0) who currently boast one of the only two undefeated records in the French D1 Elite league, take on the 1-2 Aix-en-Provence Argonautes.
The Argonautes season looked to start of with a bang as they picked up a 21-13 win over the Toulouse Ours, but since that day it hasn’t looked good for the Argonautes as they have only managed to score 14 points across two games, losing to the Cannes Iron Mask 35-8 and Marseille Blue Stars 34-6. Now they face off against an electric Catalans side. It’ll take all the might of the Argonautes to pull of this upset.
The Grizzlys, on the other hand, hold an unblemished record in the French Elite and have done it in impressive fashion. Their first game against the Nice Dauphins saw Catalans win 21-19. They then defeated Toulouse 30-6 and then dominated the second place team in Group B, and previously unbeaten, the Iron Mask 45-7. It seems as though the Catalans Grizzlys train has no plans of stopping and its next stop goes through Aix-en-Provence.
The head-to-head results also do not favor the Argonautes as the Grizzlys have won three of the last four matchups with their 2023 results being 14-7 and 34-26 losses to the Grizzlys, with the Argonautes last victory being in 2022 49-35.
