The Grizzlys Catalans (4-0) will play host to the Marseille Blue Stars (4-0) in a battle of the unbeatens as the French D1 Elite league winds up its sixth week of play.

This is the first meeting between the two teams this season. An earlier game was postponed and will take place next weekend. Since the Grizzlys entered the league in 2020, they have lost all five games they have played against Marseille.

The Grizzlys hold an unblemished record in the French Elite and have done it in impressive fashion. Their first game against the Nice Dauphins saw Catalans win 21-19. They then defeated Toulouse 30-6 and then dominated the second place team in Group B, and previously unbeaten, the Iron Mask 45-7. Two weeks ago, they struggled for some reason against the lowly Aix Argonautes but finally got by them 22-14.

The Blue Stars have also played and won four games this season. Although impressive, it has to be mentioned that two of the teams the Blue Stars have played reside at the bottom of the Group B standings, as Marseille beat the Aix Argonauts 34-6 and Toulouse 22-7. They then downed the Nice Dauphins 13-7 before blanking the Cannes Irons Mask 29-0.

The Grizzlys have the best offense in Conference B having scored almost 30 points a game while Marseille boasts the toughest defense allowing just five points a contest.

If there was ever a time for Catalans to get a win over the 2023 French finalists, it would be at home.
