The Cannes Iron Mask (5-0) will travel to Toulouse to face the Toulouse Ours (4-0) in a battle of the only two undefeated teams in the French D1 Elite league.

The Ours opened the season with that 34-27 win over the Argonautes and followed that up with a surprising 15-14 victory over the Marseille Blue Stars. They then soundly beat the Grizzlys 48-27 before getting by the Nice Dauphins 24-13 on the road.

After beating Nice in the season opener, the Iron Mask edged the Grizzlys Catalans 22-21 and the Aix Argonautes 35-34 before surprising the Blue Stars 15-8. They then blanked the Nice Dauphins 40-0 leaving them first in the Southern conference.

Toulouse is led by quarterback Braden Howell who has completed 48 of 94 passes for 676 yards and 11 touchdowns. Thomas Hillion has caught 14 of those passes for 229 yards and three scores. The key to the Ours offense is the ground game with running back Adam Delamare who has rushed for 228 yards and two touchdowns along with Sami Poles who has 183 yards rushing along with Howell who has 20 carries for 162 yards and two scores.

Cannes is led by quarterback Olivier Roy who has thrown for 658 yards and eight touchdowns with Timothe Labarriere as his main target. Labarriere has caught 16 passes for 299 yards and two touchdowns. The Iron Mask ground game is formidable with running back Yanis Polin leading the league having rushed for 562 yards and 11 touchdowns on 81 carries.

This one is a toss up. Both teams are unbeaten and are about as evenly matched as they can be. The edge would have to go then to the home team Ours.
