LIVESTREAM France: Cannes Iron Mask @ Grizzlys Catalans, Feb. 16, 13:00 CET (1 pm, 7 am EDT)

The Cannes Iron Mask (1-0) take on the Grizzlys Catalans, Sunday, February 16 as the French D1 Elite league finishes up its third full weekend of play.

The Grizzlys opened the season against the Marseille Blue Stars, playing them to a 14-14 tie, precisely as they did in 2024. Cannes looked impressive in their league opener, pounding the Nice Dauphins 41-14.

These two teams faced each other twice in 2024 with the Grizzlys winning the first encounter 45-7 and Cannes the second, late in the season, 31-20.

Grizzlys quarterback Alexander Fromberg threw for 229 yards and a touchdown in the tie against Marseille. Julien Vast was his leading target catching 10 passes for 55 yards while Aymeric Guillemaud had six receptions for 49 yards and a score. Running back Calum Davidson rushed for 41 yards and a touchdown.

For the Iron Mask, running back Yanis Polin is the key. He rushed for 159 yards and two touchdowns on 16 carries in the rout of the Dauphins and will be a focal point of the offense today. Quarterback Olivier Roy threw for a modest 123 yards but tossed three touchdown passes with Matheu Apchain his main target. Apchain hauled in three passes for 51 yards and two scores.

This game is a toss up. The Grizzlys aerial attack versus the powerful ground game of the Iron Mask.
