The Asnieres Molosses and Rouen Leopards clash Saturday, January 25 in Rouen, France as the French D1 Elite league kicks off the 2025 season.

Rouen reached the semifinal round in 2024 after finishing the regular season with a 6-3-1 record. They were eliminated by the La Courneuve Flash. Meanwhile, Asnieres finished right behind the Leopards in the North standings with a 5-4-1 record and did not qualify for post season play.

The two teams split the season series with the Molosses beating Rouen 26-18 earlier in the season and the Leopards returning the favor later, downing Asnieres 24-20.

Rouen was the surprise of the league in 2024, returning to the Elite league after a five year absence.

This game go also go either way with homefield advantage maybe being the key.
