LIVESTREAM Denmark, AFI tv: Søllerød Gold Diggers @ Copenhagen Towers, Aug. 13, 12:00 CET (12 noon, 06:00 am ET)
As the Danish National League returns to action for the first time in six weeks, the opening game features a rematch as the unbeaten Copenhagen Towers (3-0) face the 2-1 Søllerød Gold Diggers.
In the last meeting between these two teams in early June, Copenhagen downed the Gold Diggers 57-38.
Although this is a home game for Copenhagen, due to field issues, it will be played at the Gold Diggers home field, Rundforbi Stadion in Naerum, Denmark.
The Gold Diggers opened their 2022 campaign with a strong 54-24 win over the Aalborg 89ers and followed that up with a 34-4 thrashing of the Triangle Razorbacks before suffering the loss to Copenhagen. Copenhagen earned a comfortable 36-12 win over the 89ers before beating the Gold Diggers and then defeated the Razorbacks 34-17 just before the break.

Gold Diggers quarterback Louis Colosimo (Davidson, NCAA Div. 1) has looked solid in the three games and with his mobility, he will make life difficult for the Towers front seven. Wide receiver Simon Føns will be a key target this week as will Frederik Oldenburg and young Jonathan Steinhauer, both of whom have found the end zone. Running back Magnus Nørgaard is always dangerous and scored twice in the win over the Razorbacks.
Towers quarterback Josh Greaves has definitely found a rhythm in the Danish top league. In the win over Aalborg, he tossed four touchdown passes with receiver Mike Williams catching three of them. Look for this duo to be connected today. Tight end Oliver Tribler is another key target for Greaves and had one touchdown in that opening game. Martin Due and Jakob Green round out the Towers‘ excellent receiving corps. The ground game is led by crafty veteran Anton Witmeur who is complemented by Michel Konaté.
Copenhagen’s front seven has looked impressive and is anchored by Mads Marquard and Marcus Bosen, who will get pressure on Colosimo.
With such a short season in the Danish National League this year, each game is crucial.
