LIVESTREAM Denmark, AFI tv: Copenhagen Towers @ Søllerød Gold Diggers, June 11, 12:00 CET (12 noon, 06:00 am ET)
The Søllerød Gold Diggers (2-0) will play host to the Copenhagen Towers (1-0), Saturday, June 11 as Denmark’s Nationalligaen heads into its third weekend of play.
The Gold Diggers opened their 2022 campaign with a strong 54-24 win over the Aalborg 89ers and followed that up with a 34-4 thrashing of the Triangle Razorbacks. In their only game to date, Copenhagen earned a comfortable 36-12 win over the 89ers.
These two teams last faced each other in the Danish title game, Mermaid Bowl 2021 with Copenhagen avenging an earlier regular season loss to the Gold Diggers, beating them 24-7.
Gold Diggers quarterback Louis Colosimo (Davidson, NCAA Div. 1) has looked solid in the two wins tossing six touchdown passes while rushing for two more. With his mobility, he could make life difficult for the Towers front seven. Wide receiver Simon Føns has caught two of those scoring strikes and will likely be a target this week as will Frederik Oldenburg and young Jonathan Steinhauer, both of whom have found the end zone. Running back Magnus Nørgaard is always dangerous and scored twice last week in the win over the Razorbacks.

The Søllerød defense, led by Kristoffer Richoff, Hjalte Dencher and Mike Schultz, can make life difficult for the Towers but the secondary has also played well. Defensive back Troels Kristensen snagged an interception on the goal line against the Razorbacks to help preserve the win.
Towers quarterback Josh Greaves has started to find a rhythm after his first game in the Danish top league. In the win over Aalborg, he tossed four touchdown passes with receiver Mike Williams catching three of them. Look for this duo to be connected today. Tight end Oliver Tribler is another key target for Greaves and had one touchdown in that opening game. Martin Due and Jakob Green round out the Towers‘ excellent receiving corps. The ground game is led by crafty veteran Anton Witmeur who is complemented by Michel Konaté.
Copenhagen’s front seven looked impressive against the 89ers. Anchored by Mads Marquard and Marcus Bosen, they will get pressure on Colosimo.
