The Triangle Razorbacks (0-5) take on the Aab 89ers (2-3) in the final game of the Danish National Ligaen regular season.
This matchup features two teams with contrasting offenses as the 89ers bring a potent air attack up against a smash-mouth Razorbacks team. It will be interesting to see how both coaches approach this game as it will not affect the team’s respective playoff positioning. There is however no doubt, that the Razorbacks are eager to earn their first win of the season in front of their home fans in Vejle.
The Triangle Razorbacks are led on the field by quarterback Reed Gottula. Gottula and the Razorbacks will look to run the ball in the matchup as the Razorbacks boast a physically imposing offensive line featuring Mattias Stockamp and Jawaugn Arnold. When passing, Gottula will look to target speedster Jeremy Cornelius as well as Danish talents veteran tight end Mark Meter and receiver Jacob Dahl Callesen.

Defensive coordinator Wojciech Andrzejczak has the young Razorbacks unit developing and improving before the post-season. Linebacker Kenneth Bradley (Ithaca NCAA D3) is the key to this game as his play against pass-happy 89ers offense will be a huge factor in the final score. At the line of scrimmage, young defensive end Aleksander Klose aims to sack one of the league’s best passers today.
Despite a winless record, the Razorbacks have a new reason to be hopeful. The team announced this morning the return of athlete Niko Lester. Lester has spent three previous seasons with the Razorbacks, including a league MVP and championship 2019 season. Lester joins the Razorbacks after an All-Star season with the Barcelona Dragons in the European League of Football. Expect the former Danish National Ligaen MVP to contribute all over the field as a defensive back, receiver, running back, and kick returner.
The 89er’s passing game is one of the country’s most exciting featuring quarterback Shelton Eppler Northwestern State (NCAA D1 FCS). Eppler has been one of the league’s top passers throwing for 15 touchdowns in only five games. His favorite targets have been Margus Urth and Thomas Zink Thellufsen all season. Fans can anticipate both Danish receivers. Expect Eppler to involve shifty running back Andreas Brandsen as a runner and receiver as this offense is looking to put on a show against a struggling Razorbacks team.
Defensively Tobias Fogtmann is an impact player to keep an eye on for Aalborg. The 6’2 240 lb linebacker has been racking up tackles all season as one of the team’s most versatile defenders. Expect Fogtmann to stuff the stat sheet today against a run-heavy Razorbacks squad. However, the star of this defense is 6’5 290 lb defensive lineman De’mage Bailey. Bailey, a former Eastern Carolina (NCAA D1) product who uses his size to eat up blocks and collapse the pocket.
The 89ers have rooted themselves in as the league’s third seed and will face the Copenhagen Towers in the Semi-finals. The Razorbacks on the other hand will finish fourth and travel to Sollerod to take on the top-seeded Gold Diggers in the first round of the playoffs.
