The 8-3 Triangle Razorbacks, who finished third in the Danish American Football League regular season standings, head to Aarhus, Denmark to face the second place Aarhus Tigers (7-3) in the first Danish semifinal, Saturday, September 29.
The winner will advance to the Mermaid Bowl XXX on October 13.
The two teams faced each other once this year with the Tigers earning a tight 21-16 victory over the Razorbacks.
Triangle has won six of their last seven games with the only glitch being a sound drubbing three weeks ago at the hands of the league-leading Copenhagen Towers, 49-14.
Aarhus on the other hand, has lost three of their last five including an embarrassing 42-14 loss to the Sollerod Gold Diggers, who lost to Triangle last week in the wild card playoffs.
The Razorbacks won the Danish title in 2006, 2007, 2008, 2011, 2012, 2015 and 2016. Aarhus are four time winners of the Mermaid Bowl but the last time was in 2000. The Tigers reached the 2014 final but were beaten by the Copenhagen Towers 26-3.
