The Winnipeg Blue Bombers wind up their Canadian Football League preseason schedule as they face the visiting Saskatchewan Roughriders at Investors Group Field on Friday night.
The Bombers downed Edmonton 25-23 last weekend in Edmonton in the first preseason game while Saskatchewan edged the BC Lions 30-27 in Regina.
For Saskatchewan, starting quarterback Trevor Harris will see the field for the first time this year after sitting out the game against the Lions. The Bombers, on the other hand, will sit starter Zach Collaros after he threw for 93 yards and a touchdown in a quarter or so of play against the Elks. Dru Brown, Tyrell Pigrome and Josh Jones will all see playing time to battle it out for the backup spots.
Two Japanese players, linebacker Les Maruo and offensive lineman Tomoya Machino, will be in the lineup for Winnipeg as part of their Global contingent along with defensive back Souleymane Karamoko from the Ivory Coast.
The Roughriders have one Global player on the roster for this game, Australian punter Adam Korsak (Rutgers).
Winnipeg opens their regular season, Friday, June 9 when they host the Hamilton Tiger-Cats while the Roughriders head to Edmonton on Sunday, June 12 to face the Elks.
