The Koc Rams from Turkey, head to Chur, Switzerland Saturday, May 11 to face the Calanda Broncos in a crucial game for Calanda in Central European Football League play.
The Broncos are coming off a big 27-3 road win over Poland’s Wroclaw Panthers in their opening game of the tournament which gives them an edge in the race for first place in the conference. The Rams have lost both of their games and are out of contention. A win today for Calanda would keep them in the hunt.
The Swiss team is led by QB Conner Manning who threw for two touchdowns in the win over Wroclaw and ran in another.He connected with Severin Murk and Lukas Lütscher on those two, while Melvin Sassi ran one in himself. The team sits atop the Swiss National League standings with a 4-1 record.
The Rams also sit at the top of their domestic league with 3 wins and no losses. However they lost both their CEFL games, first losing to Serbia’s Kragujevac Wild Boars 53-36 on the road and then getting embarrassed at home, losing 55-7 to the Wroclaw Panthers. They will be looking for some form of redemption in this game with QB David Whipple and RB Joshua Quezada leading the way.
