The Gdynia Seahawks, Polish runner ups in 2017, take on Serbian powerhouse. SBB Vukovi Belgrade to decide the winner of the 2018 Central European Football League – CEFL – Cup tournament.
To reach the final, Vukovi defeated reigning Hungarian champions, the Budapest Cowbells 28-18. Meanwhile, Gdynia whipped Turkey’s Sakarya Tatankalari 56-28.
In 2017, Serbia’s Novi Sad Dukes overwhelmed the Kranj Alp Devils from Slovenia 59-0.
In the Seahawks semifinal win, quarterback Joey Bradley threw two touchdown passes to Paweł Henicz while Jan Domagała rushed for two scores.
In the other semifinal, Vukovi quarterback Khari Vercher posted four passing and two rushing touchdowns, while receiver Nikola Simović had a game of a life time with four touchdowns.
The 2017 edition of the CEFL Cup tournament was the inaugural event and included seven teams. It was considered more of a developmental competition for regional teams.
