LIVESTREAM: Austrian Football League – #4 Dacia Vienna Vikings @ #5 Swarco Raiders – May 13, 3p (9a EST)

In the top game of the week and maybe the season in the Austrian American Football League, the Swarco Raiders, Europe #5, will play host to arch rivals the Dacia Vienna Vikings, Europe #4, Sunday at Tivoli Stadium in Inssbruck, Austria.

A capacity crowd is expected to watch as Swarco attempts gain revenge for the 35-28 defeat they suffered earlier this season against the Vikings.

Vienna is undefeated leads the AFL with a 6-0 record with the Raiders right behind at 4-1, their only loss to the Vikings.

The Vikings are averaging 46.3 points per game while Swarco’s offense scores an average of 40.6 points a game. Vienna gives up 22.3 points a game on average while the Raiders allow 21.8.

Vienna quarterback Garrett Safron has thrown for 1,414 yards and 21 touchdowns while Sean Shelton of the Raiders has thrown for 1,401 and 21 touchdowns.

In the Vikings win earlier this year, Safron led both teams in passing and rushing throwing for 264 yards and three touchdowns and rushing for 111 yards and another touchdown. Receivers Bernhard Seikovits, Reece Horn, Maurice Wappl and Santino Schlimpert  all caught touchdown passes Christopher Kappel kicked two field goals and three extra points while Schlimpert  added a two-point conversion.

Raiders running back Tobias Bonatti scored three of Swarco’s four touchdowns hauling in two touchdown passes from Shelton and rushing for another. Sandro Platzgummer also caught a touchdown pass and kicked an extra point. Shelton completed 12 of 21 passes for 201 yards and threw three touchdown passes.

In other words, these two teams are as evenly matched as possible.
