The defending Austrian champion Danube Dragons (1-1) will play host to the Mödling Rangers (1-2) as the Austrian Football League nears the midpoint of the season.
Danube opened the season with a 23-7 win over the Swarco Raiders but then dropped a 14-9 decision to the Vienna Vikings. The Rangers lost 45-2 to the Raiders and then 13-0 to the Graz Giants before beating up on the Telfs Patriots 35-7.
Danube quarterback Alexander Thury has only thrown for 217 yards in the two games with his main targets being Samuel Imarhiagbe (13 rec., 78 yds) and Lukas Gold (16 rec., 57 yds). However, running back Steve McShane has rushed for 111 yards and two touchdowns giving the Dragons a solid ground attack.
For the Rangers, Shazzon Mumphrey has thrown for 417 yards and three touchdowns in three games. Benjamin Spieler has caught eight passes for 151 yards and a score while Raphael Schneeweiss has seven catches for 108 yards and a touchdown.
Expect the Dragons to take charge of this game early in front of their home crowd.
