The Graz Giants (1-0) take the two hour bus ride to Mödling to face the Mödling Rangers (0-1) as the Austrian Football League heads into its second weekend of action.
The Giants impressed last weekend when they got by the Prague Black Panthers 15-7 in overtime. Meanwhile, Mödling floundered and were manhandled by the Swarco Raiders 45-2.
The Mödling Rangers were only able to muster 113 yards of offense in the loss to Swarco last week. Veteran quarterback Shazzon Mumphrey struggled behind an offensive line that gave up two sacks. He will be hard pressed again today.
In the win over Prague, Giants quarterback Nicolas Visser tossed one touchdown pass, finding receiver Valentin Reissner in the end zone from 14 yards out in the first half to tie the game at 7-7. Then in overtime, Visser sealed the win himself, punching the ball in from three yards out. Although he only threw for 85 yards, he rushed for another 61 and with running back Fritz Bleckmann, the Giants will put pressure on the Rangers defense.
