Australia’s Gridiron West championships – West Bowl XXIII – are underway in Perth, Australia Saturday, Feb. 10.

The Men’s Final will pit the Swan City Titans and the undefeated Rockingham Vipers in a game that kicks off at 6p local time in Perth.

The Vipers finished the regular season with a 14-0 record while Swan City finished third in the standings with a record of 9-5, including two lopsided losses to Rockingham. As third place finishers in the regular season, the Titans then defeated the number two Perth Broncos in the semifinals while the Vipers manhandled the Curtin Saints 46-0.

Rockingham had by far the best offense and defense in the league during the 2017/2018 season scoring 513 points in 14 games while allowing a meager 28. The Vipers have won the last three Gridiron West titles and nine overall since 1995. In fact, the team has reached the final 13 times.

This is the first trip to the championship final for Swan City.

The women’s final between the Perth Broncos and Perth Blitz precedes the men’s title game.
