In one of the top games of the week in Germany, the Allgäu Comets and Frankfurt Universe will battle Sunday in a clash of division rivals.

The Comets have opened the German season in dominating style winning all three of their games handily and averaging 44.7 points and 474 yards in total offense per game.

Quarterback Cedric Townsend has continued where he left off in 2015 throwing for over 700 yards and eight touchdowns while also rushing for 215 yards and another touchdown. Running back Daniel Conroy is third in Germany in rushing with 44 carries for 368 yards and four touchdowns.

Allgäu’s receiving corps is potent. Wide receiver Grant Isdale has hauled in 15 passes for 215 yards and three scores while Matthew Green has 13 catches for 201 yards and three touchdowns. Christian Hafels has caught 12 passes for 226 yards and two scores. The versatile Isdale has also added three touchdowns rushing and one on a punt return.

The Universe enter this contest averaging 437 yards in offense and 35 points per game. Quarterback Marcus McDade has averaged 332 yards passing in his two games, good for second in Germany. He has also rushed 17 times for 118 yards and three touchdowns. Receiver David Giron has caught 24 passes for 204 yards in German league play.

The Universe have demolished their opposition in the European Football League tournament trouncing both the Thonon Black Panthers from France (48-0) and Spain’s Badalona Dracs (49-7).
