Team Denmark looks to bounce back after losing 60-13 against a strong Finland team in the qualifying round of the IFAF European Championships when they face the Czech Republic at Gentofte Sportspark just outside of Copenhagen, Denmark.
The Czech national team is also coming off a loss to Finland as they kept things close for a half but ended up losing 42-10. Fans are expecting a competitive game today as Denmark hopes to get a win in front of their home fans.
The Czech quarterbacks Pavel Mráz and Michal Stoklásek look to get this offense on track as turnovers hurt them against Finland. Upfront, the Czechs have a physical offensive line featuring Michal Knotek, Jan Rauš, and the Kysilková brothers.
At running back, it is expected that Bělá Mráz will make an impact on the ground. On the outside, receivers Petr Cermak and Vojtech Masita will try to give this run heavy offense a second dimension in the passing game.
The defense of the Czech team was carved up by Finland’s passing game earlier this month. Look for the coaching staff to blitz often and help out their secondary. Karel Augusta will line up at defense end, in front of veteran linebacker Tomáš Svoboda. Veteran national team players such as Filip Ondrášek, Jan Kabát or Jakub Smutný, and Jan Krs hope to earn a big win today for their country.
The Danish offense will be quarterbacked by veteran Alexander Kronberg-Bjerre. The Danish pocket passer spent the past two seasons playing in the German Football League for the Ravensburg Razorbacks.
Receivers Simon Fons and Jens Ole Kaae give this offense two tall pass catchers who can block and make contested catches over defenders. Running backs Jakob Michaelsen and Magnus Norgaard hopes to find space behind lineman Nicholas Stokholm and Benjamin Qvist. Kronberg-Bjerre will hope to get this offense going after a up and down showing versus Finland.
Defensively, Mads Neilsen and Mikkel Oroft Foldager look to stuff the run from the defensive line. Behind them, Nichlaj Neilsen and Christopher Chistensen roam the linebacker spots, with defensive backs Casper Block and Emil Brugge roaming the backend. This defense will be focused on the run as the Czech republic has a fierce offensive line.
