LIVE STREAM PPV: Sweden’ Superserien 2016 – Uppsala 86ers vs Stockholm Mean Machines
Last week the Uppsala 86ers (2-2) finally saw their offense let loose in downing the winless Stockholm Mean Machines (0-5) 46-7. The two teams meet again this week, this time in Uppsala’s home park, Studenternas IP.
Uppsala sits in fourth spot in the Swedish standings while Stockholm is last.
Back-to-back games are always toughest on the winner of the first game. If you win, and decidedly as the 86ers did, you do not change anything.
The Mean Machines, on the other hand will no doubt make changes and they have also added a new import, Frank Tae (6’2″, 235 lb) from France who will play both running back and linebacker. According the Uppsala head coach Moe Kadkhodai, Stockholm’s running game will be much improved.
“We managed to keep Stockholm at historically low 22 yards in offense and their head coach Fredrik Pilbäck won’t allow that to happen again. We can expect a Stockholm team looking for revenge on Saturday.”
If Stockholm’s offense had a dismal outing a week ago, Uppsala’s performed exceptionally well. Quarterback Jared Stegman had a break-out game throwing for 181 yards and rushing for 85.
Sweden’s leading rusher in 2015, running back Jonathan Wikström returns to the Uppsala lineup after a brief illness along with wide receiver Ricardo Miller. Safety Jake Adelman who also missed the last game against Stockholm is back in the lineup as well.
Stockholm quarterback Zach Anderson was shackled without a running game last week so the addition of Tae will take some pressure off of the passing game.
