Lamar Jackson put in a great performance to move his Ravens to 2-2 following Baltimore’s 35-10 victory over the Buffalo Bills at the M&T Bank Stadium. Having lost their first two games of the season, John Harbaugh has seen his side rally to complete back-to-back wins to get their season back on track.
Jackson was once again in top form, completing two touchdown passes and rushing in another to ease Baltimore to a relatively easy win over a Buffalo team who had won each of their first three games, racking up 30+ points in each of those victories but managing just ten this time around.
Fans of the Ravens who feel that Jackson has it in him to drag Baltimore to their first Super Bowl since the 2012 season may want to back their team with a healthy wager. Jackson secured the MVP award for 2023 and is clearly keen to further up his game as he seeks to lead the Ravens deep into the postseason again, having come up short at the AFC Championship game against the Kansas City Chiefs last time around.
Their win over the Bills was also down to the amazing performance put in by running back Derrick Henry. He ran for 199 yards, which included an 87-yard touchdown, the longest made by the Ravens in Baltimore.
Nonetheless, Henry was full of praise for the Bills, simply pointing out that on the day, the Ravens were unstoppable,
“The Bills are a great team,”
“They’ve been hitting on all cylinders. We played a great game against them tonight. We were the better team tonight, but I’m sure they’ll fix things the next upcoming weeks. We’re just focused on being 1-0 this week.” Henry added.
“If today doesn’t show I’m used to it [and] I’m comfortable, then I don’t know what else to say,”
“It’s been fun. We didn’t start the way we wanted to. … Our backs were against the wall [at] 0-2. We just kept believing. We kept fighting. And now we’re back where we want to be.” Henry concluded.
Those opening losses to the Kansas City Chiefs and the Las Vegas Raiders put the Ravens in trouble, and they showed great character to respond with decisive victories over the Dallas Cowboys and the Buffalo Bills.
In addition to that, Jackson got the edge over Josh Allen in their ongoing quarterbacking duel.
This is John Harbaugh’s 17th season in charge at the M&T Bank Stadium, and while he has consistently been leading the team to the postseason in recent years, doing so in five of the last six seasons, anything less than a Super Bowl place can be considered a failure, even more so given that he clinched the title in 2012.
