Serbia’s defending champion Kragujevac Wild Boars have announced the signing of Isaiah Weed as their quarterback for the 2021 season.
The 23 year old Weed, 6’3″, 194 pounds, from Bonny Lake outside of Seattle, Washington, spent the 2019 season with Denmark’s Aarhus Tigers. He graduated from Northwestern Oklahoma State University (NCAA Div. II) where in 15 games in 2017/2018 he threw for 2,592 yards and 23 touchdowns while rushing for 492 yards and another 10 scores. In 2015-16 playing for Minot State University he completed 169 of 292 passes for 1,812 yards and 18 touchdowns in 15 games.
Needless to say, Weed is looking forward to a season of football after missing 2020 due to the pandemic:
“First of all, I am excited to be a part of this organization and eager to get on the field. The Wild Boars are a Top 20 team in Europe and I chose this team because they know what it takes to win. The competition in Serbia is great and I will be striving to bring home another championship for the Wild Boars. From what I have seen and heard, the team comradery is awesome and something that I would love to be involved in. With the talent on this team and the work that we will put in, great things will happen moving into the CEFL. I will bring my years of leadership and work ethic into this program to add to the competitive culture of this team.”
