The Ancona Dolphins of Italy’s Division I have signed top NCAA Division 2 quarterback Collin DiGalbo.
Digalbo joins a Dolphins squad looking to get back into the playoff hunt after missing the cut in 2019.
The young man is looking forward to exploring the land his family came from and passing on his football knowledge to the locals.
“”With my grandparents being Italian, I’ve always wanted to experience Italy for myself, and to be able to go over there to play the game I love is a dream. I hope to experience a different way of teaching the game I grew up playing and the different ways that people take it in. American football is the greatest game in the world, and I think it is an amazing thing to be able to teach it in Italy. I hope to experience things that I would never have thought about doing and getting out of my comfort zone and enjoying life in a different perspective than I you would get by living in Pennsylvania.”
DiGalbo, a 6’0 210 pound Secane, Pennsylvania native, went to in-state Kutztown University (NCAA D2). During his five-year career with the Golden Bears, DiGalbo threw for 74 touchdowns and 9,282 yards. After a stellar 2019 campaign, the Kutztown captain was named Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference, PSAC, Player of the Year and was named as an Honorable Mention All American by D2Football.com. Digalbo is a true dual threat quarterback who ran for an impressive 33 touchdowns and 1,810 yards during his collegiate career.
The Ancona Dolphins kick off their 2021 season April 11 against the Lazio Ducks.
