The GLS Ancona Dolphins have announced that their quarterback Collin DiGalbo, is returning for the 2022 season in Italy’s top league.
The dual threat quarterback, in his first season with the Dolphins, threw for 1,248 yards and 13 touchdowns while rushing for another 256 yards and four scores.
DiGalbo, a 6′, 210-pound Secane, Pennsylvania native, went to in-state Kutztown University (NCAA D2). During his five-year career with the Golden Bears, DiGalbo threw for 74 touchdowns and 9,282 yards. After a stellar 2019 campaign, the Kutztown captain was named Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference, PSAC, Player of the Year and was named as an Honorable Mention All American by D2Football.com. Digalbo is a true dual threat quarterback who ran for an impressive 33 touchdowns and 1,810 yards during his collegiate career.
Ancona head coach Roberto Rotelli:
“Collin’s return was dictated by that line of continuity that we have always looked for in the Dolphins. He played extremely well last year, and we have absolutely no reason to replace him. He too was very happy to return. It was very easy to find an agreement to extend our relationship.
“He immediately understood our reality and what the Dolphins needed. He was able to turn all our receivers into protagonists. And this, in my opinion, was very important. He has a good arm and sees the game well. He also knows how to use his legs and he is always ready to go. You never know what he’s going to do.”
