International Federation of American Football taps AFI as official media partner
The International Federation of American Football, IFAF, has announced that it has entered into agreement for the non-exclusive live international distribution of international fixtures for the 2022-2023 IFAF European Championship (M-Tackle) with American Football International, one of the world’s leading destinations for football fans.
IFAF President Pierre Trochet:
“The American Football International teams have worked passionately for many years to promote American football and flag football globally. It is only a consequence of taking advantage of our shared ambitions and platforms to show the world the globalization of our sports.”
Trochet continued:
“Our members will retain exclusive rights to distribute games from the European Championship in their own nation when hosting games or when investing in broadcast as the visiting nation. The deal with AFI gives both them and us access to a broader audience to showcase the talent that exists within European football.”
AFI founder and CEO John McKeon:
“This cooperation with IFAF is foundational to AFI’s mission to help spread news and information about the hard work occurring every day around the world to grow the game of American football. We are proud to partner with the International Federation for this championship and work with its member federations to continue to serve the highest quality of content on americanfootballinternational.com and international streaming on our live streaming platform AFI.tv and by other means at no cost to the reader or viewer.”
This agreement as AFI as official media partner includes but is not limited to cooperation as it relates to media information and coverage around events with Local Operating Committees (LOC) entities, dissemination and distribution of photographs and official video from LOC partners, rights to live-streaming for IFAF sanctioned and produced events, and rights to archive IFAF sanctioned events in video form on AFI.
AFI Partner and Managing Editor, Roger Kelly:
“For almost a decade, we have striven to provide top notch worldwide coverage of football and have worked closely with IFAF on an unofficial basis. With this agreement, we are excited and proud to be able to announce an official working partnership with the International Federation so we can expand our level of cooperation and work with the member federations in distributing their games to our international audience.”
