International Federation of American Football at Super Bowl 59

Super Bowl LIX was a busy time for numerous members of the IFAF family who were an integral part of a packed week of media activities in New Orleans.

IFAF world champions Vanita Krouch, Madison Fulford and Izzy Geraci were active on Radio Row within the Super Bowl Media Center being interviewed by some of the 6,500 media who descended on the Crescent City during the buildup to the NFL season finale. The U.S. National team’s women’s stars were joined by men’s quarterback and New Orleans native Darrell Housh Doucette, who was interviewed by Sirus Radio along with USA Football Executive Director Scott Hallenbeck. True to the form that has captured multiple gold medals for USA, Housh was named MVP of a celebrity flag football game played on Thursday night.

Iconic Mexico women’s quarterback Diana Flores was in the TV broadcast booth and on the sideline during the pre-game as part of the Televisa coverage of the Philadelphia Eagles’ dismantling of the Kansas City Chiefs.

Diana was also joined by Mexican wide receiver Rebeca Landa and Global Flag Football Ambassadors and current national team members Phoebe Schecter (Great Britain) and Naussica Dell’Orto (Italy) who were broadcasting with Sky Sports and DAZN respectively. Phoebe also got to ride on the New Orleans & Company float in the Mardis Gras style Super Bowl Parade on Saturday morning, throwing beads and mini footballs to the tens of thousands who crowded the streets.

IFAF President Pierre Trochet and Managing Director Andy Fuller could be found mixing with media and star players in the Media Center and were recognized at the official announcement that the NFL will play a regular season game in Melbourne, Australia, in 2026.

If you bought a copy of the official Super Bowl program, you’ll find IFAF content writer Michael Preston’s multi-page annual preview of the AFC champions – the Chiefs for the third year running. Michael also rounded off a year serving as the International Media Liaison for the New Orleans Host Committee, ensuring all those heading to Nola from five continents had an enjoyable visit to the city he now calls home.
