Why These Stats In China Arena Football League Matter
The Beijing Lions are undefeated in the China Arena Football League and their stats back up the reason why. They have the most efficient defense, allow the fewest points per game, have scored the most on offense and were just two percentage points behind Shanghai when it comes to offensive efficiency. They will look to bolster those stats on Sunday in the first ever China Bowl, when they face the Qingdao Clippers in Shanghai.
The Lions defense caused 15 turnovers with 10 interceptions and five fumble recoveries. They also scored more points defensively (14) than any other CAFL team. Finding the end zone twice for scores was James Romain with returns of an interception and a fumble. Paul Cheng also recorded a safety.
Beijing also recorded the most points in a game when they scored 70 in a victory over Dalian. Shanghai twice recorded more than 60 points in a contest and had the top efficiency rating at 75.5 percent.
Guangzhou shared the fewest points against, with Beijing allowing 184 on the season.
