The IFAF Americas Flag Football Championships open with a stunning matchup on Wednesday, July 5, when defending women’s champion the United States take on bronze medal winners from The World Games Panama at 9am.
During a hectic first day of unmissable action, three games will be played concurrently at 9am, 10.45am, 12.15pm, 2.30pm, 4pm and 5.30pm alternating between the women’s and men’s
competitions.
Also kicking off the championships at the United States Performance Center in Charlotte, N.C. and the University of North Carolina Charlotte at 9am will be The World Games gold medal winners Mexico, who take on Canada, while Chile and Brazil meet in a South American rivalry matchup.

The men’s event gets underway when the day’s second wave of games kick off. The 2021 IFAF World Championship runners up Mexico face Panama at 10.15am. Defending IFAF champions the United States meet Brazil at the same time and completing that slate of games is Canada against Argentina.
Among the opening day highlights, the United States and Mexico close out the action at 5.30pm in a rematch of the 2011 championship game, which the Americans won by a narrow three points in a 44-41 thriller.
The two powerhouses of the women’s game clash at 10.30am on Day Two, Thursday, July 6, when the United States, winners of the 2021 championship, face Mexico, gold medalists at The World Games in 2022. When the traditional rivals met in Israel two years ago for the IFAF crown the Americans triumphed by 10 points and then last year Mexico came out on top in Birmingham, Alabama, winning 39-6.
Friday, July 7, sees the conclusion of group games, followed by placement games and ultimately the battle for the Women’s Gold Medal at 6pm and the Men’s title at 7.30pm.
