IFAF Africa Championship: Morocco to Arrive in Cairo on Thursday, 12/11

 Morocco and Egypt play the first international match in Africa this weekend!

The national team of Morocco will arrive in Cairo, Egypt on Thursday, December 11th to prepare for the first IFAF Africa Championship against the national team of Egypt .

This historic meeting will take place on December 13th at 3:00 pm local time in Cairo. The winner of this match qualifier for next summer’s 2015 IFAF World Championships.

The Egyptian Federation of American Football (ELAF) has confirmed that a local communication firm to stream the game LIVE online.

The Moroccan delegation will have a practice sessions and meeting the whole day Friday before the match.

David Serreau, head coach of Team Morocco:

“The goal is clearly to have our players acclimatize to the local conditions, and to work on our team’s cohesion, since we have not had the opportunity meet as a whole beforehand.”

In addition to players from Morocco, the 45 athletes selected to represent Morocco will be arriving from different countries across the globe. France, Germany, Canada , Spain, Switzerland, and Romania to name a few.

Among these players are Mohamed Aymen Nechchad, who recently won a title with the Université de Montréal Carabins (Canada), Amin Khamsi of the Calanda Broncos (Switzerland), and Samir Lafou of Saint-Ouen Cougars (France).

This trip would not have been possible without the many efforts of the ANMFA, Morocco’s national federation.

ANMFA president Ahmed Ben El Cadi told us:
