In the first half, the visitors’ running game seemed strong. Anthony Green Jr. had one touchdown, while Gergő Vakarcs ran for two more. The Sharks tried moving the ball in the air but Eger’s defense gave quarterback Phillip Garcia and the receivers a hard time. However, they could score by Andres Fernandez’s rushing TD in the first quarter. Heroes took a 21-6 lead at the half.
In the second half, the visitors’ defense played highly motivated. Norbert Petrényi, Chris Hall and Chris Murray were all over the field, thus, shutting down the Sharks’ passing game. Heroes’ running back Anthony Green Jr. could score two more rushing TD-s, while quarterback Khalid Ali gave his first touchdown pass of the season to Csaba Fenyvesi. Nonetheless, the Sharks’ were not ineffective; Fernandez and László Becs got a TD reception each.
The Heroes’ running game is greatly improved since last year. Green Jr. (14 carries, 168 yards, 3 TDs) and Vakarcs (10 carries, 129 yards, 2 TDs) dominated on offense. In addition, Eger’s secondary did a good job in stopping Győr’s passing game.
