Hungarian title holders, the Fehérvár Enthroners, sign LB Devan Stringer
The reigning Hungarian champion Fehérvár Enthroners, who play in Hungary’s top league, the Hungarian Football League, HFL as well as in Austria’s Division 2, have signed Appalachian State University (NCAA FBS Div. I-A) linebacker Devan Stringer for the 2021 season.
The 5’11”, 210 pound, 25 year-old Stringer, from Gainesville, Georgia was a four-year-starter for the Mountaineers at outside linebacker and finished with 217 tackles, 19 tackles for loss, 6.5 sacks, 6 pass deflections, 1 forced fumble and 1 fumble recovery (ran back for 88 yard TD). In 2019, he played in the National Arena League for the New York Streets and had been signed by the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League to play in the 2020 season before the COVID-19 pandemic shut everything down.
Stringer is excited to be in Hungary playing football:
“I decided to sign with the Enthroners because they are a great program with great coaches. I am beyond excited for this opportunity to continue playing the game that I love and show my talent to all of Europe. I have been working very hard to perfect my game and I can’t wait to get to work with my team and help this program! I’m very excited to have a new adventure in Hungary and meeting a new culture with the people there.
“I want to help my new team to win a championship this season and having as much success as possible!”
