The Hamburg Sea Devils have signed outstanding Swedish wide receiver Theo Landström for the 2024 European League of Football season.
This past season, Landström was a key to the Barcelona Dragons offense. He hauled in 56 passes for a team-best 805 yards and eight touchdowns, good for 12th overall in the league.
While the 24-year old stats have been dependable, Landström has generated several flashy highlight catches throughout the season, highlighted by a standout week two that featured 10 catches for 110 yards and two touchdowns.
In 2022, Landström helped the Telfs Patriots reach the Austrian Football League semifinals after catching 66 passes for 888 yards and nine touchdowns.
The 6’4″, 200 pound, 22-year-old native of Göteberg, Sweden spent the 2021 season with the Carlstad Crusaders, helping the team reach the Swedish Superserien semifinals. In the shortened, three-game regular season, Landström caught 15 passes for 291 yards and a touchdown, leading the Crusaders and ranking third in the league. He also started for Sweden in the European Championship final.
Landström spent the 2019 season playing for Clarion University of Pennsylvania (NCAA Div. II), primarily on special teams. He is a graduate of the RIG Football Academy in Sweden and played for Team Sweden in the 2018 IFAF U19 World Championships held in Mexico where Sweden finished fourth.
The lanky wide receiver started playing football for his hometown Göteborg Marvels.
The Sea Devils have already had an impressive off season as Landström joins quarterback Javarian Smith and wide receiver Jarvis McClam in Hamburg.
