The Growth of a Game to Host Developmental Camp in Croatia in August

The Growth of a Game, in partnership with the Croatian American Football Association, will be hosting one of the premier American football camps in Europe from August 5th-7th, 2016 in Split, Croatia.

The camp, known as “The Growth of a Game Split Skills Camp”, will be an annual camp with the intent to improve the level of players from around the region. Players and coaches from all across Europe will visit Split for the camp, and upwards of 120 players are expected to be in attendance. The camp is part of a larger system of developmental camps hosted by The Growth of a Game throughout the year.

The Growth of a Game Split Skills Camp will be led by several of the top coaches in Europe, including Daniel Levy, head coach for the Warsaw Eagles in Poland; Geoff Buffum, head coach for the Calanda Broncos in Switzerland; Tyler Harlow, head coach for the Cineplexx Blue Devils in Austria; Kim Ewé, head coach for the Castelfranco Cavaliers in Italy; Eoin O’Sullivan, offensive line coach for the Warsaw Eagles; Matheus Dias, defensive coordinator for the Warsaw Eagles; and Alexandre Braga, defensive backs coach for the Warsaw Eagles.

The camp will focus on skill development for all players 15 and over. Players of all positions are welcome. The camp includes 3 on-field practice sessions, 2 hours of film study, and an organized beach trip. The majority of camp attendees will be from Croatia, Serbia, and Slovenia, however players from as many as 15 countries will be present.

In addition to player development, the coaching staff will also be providing instruction to beginner and intermediate coaches in the form of on-field work, film study, and a private coaching clinic on Friday evening.

A special national team preliminary practice session will be organized for Croatian players and coaches on Sunday evening following the camp.

Player fees for the 2-day camp are €99, while coaches fees are €69.

Camp t-shirts will be included in the sign-up cost for players and will be provided during registration. Players will wear t-shirts, shorts, and football cleats – no shoulder pads or helmets.
