The University of West England Bullets were once again crowned British National College Champions, dominating the Durham Saints 52-0 and securing the highly-anticipated ‘three-peat’.
On the opening drive, quarterback Jadrian Clark marched the Bullets downfield, seemingly with ease until they reached the redzone. Durham managed to stop them for three downs before a Kyle Barnes interception returned to the 30 gave the Saints their first possession.
However, this was the best position the Saints were in all game, as the following drive saw a deep bomb to AJ Mealing set up a KK Brooks rushing score to open up scoring for UWE.
UWE’s next score came shortly after when Clark hit Dre Rucker deep downfield for a 45-yard touchdown to up their lead.
After back-and-forth football for the remainder of the first period, the Bullets opened up the second quarter with yet another score. After lining up for what looked like a sneak on 4th & short, Rucker took the ball on the outside and outran the Durham defense for a touchdown.
The defending champions managed to squeeze in another two touchdowns before the break, as Clark hit Brooks deep down the sideline and then found Jax Crawford who humiliated a Saints defensive back with a terrific head-top catch in the endzone.
The next score came late in the third period, as UWE drove down field before Jadrian Clark kept the ball on a pitch-option for a very rare rushing touchdown from the ELF MVP.
Multiple defensive stops later, the Bullets put the nail in the coffin as Darian Conrad caught a ball in quadruple coverage for the final score, with a back-shoulder fade to AJ Mealing taking the score to 52-0.
Durham continued to fight for a score to the end of the game, but were unsuccessful as the official raised the ball and the UWE Bullets were crowned National Champions once again. Unsurprisingly, Jadrian Clark was named game MVP.
