The Dresden Monarchs of the German Football League have signed former DI passer Steven Duncan for the 2023 season. Duncan joins former NFL offensive line coach Paul Alexander in Saxony as the Monarchs hope to make a run at the post season this year two years removed from their first German Bowl title.
Duncan brings a huge frame at 6’6 245-lbs and big time production the GFL. During his last two season with the Texans (NCAA DI FCS) he threw for 4,047 yards, 30 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions in 18 games. During is Junior season in 2021, the Charleston, South Carolina native threw for 2,505 and 19 touchdowns, including a 403 yard and four touchdown performance against powerhouse Sam Houston State.

Duncan began his NCAA career at NCAA DI FBS program Western Kentucky, where he started eight games and threw for 1,863 yards and 14 touchdowns, before transferring to Tarleton State.

After his junior season at Tarleton State, Duncan transferred once again, this time to University of Incarnate Word where he spent the 2022 season backing up NFL Draft Prospect Lindsey Scott on Cardinals team that reached the FCS Semi-finals. Duncan made five appearances during the season, going 19-34 for 346 yards and one touchdown, while adding another two scores on the ground.
Duncan hopes to help make a new look Dresden team to contenders in a GFL North that still features talented teams such as the Potsdam Royals, New Yorker Lions, among others.
