The top rusher in the German Football League is returning to Berlin for 2017.
The Berlin Rebels are very glad to have Lawrence McCoy back in Berlin.
The 27-year-old from Wytheville, Virginia is the 2-time defending rushing champion in Germany. In 2015, McCoy finished with over 1,600 rushing yards in 13 games and in 2016 he surpassed his own achievement with 1,804 regular season yards and 23 touchdowns.
This isn’t McCoy first time collecting rushing accolades. He is all-time leading rusher for Duquesne University with 4,549 yards. He was named to the first team all-Northeastern Conference in 2010, 2011 and 2012. In addition to his athletic feats, the Rebels has certified his character as flawless.
The “L-Train”, as he was called while at Duquesne, is hard to be stopped and will be continue to be heart of the offense of the Rebels this season.
McCoy first joined the Rebels in 2014 where he rushed for an impressive 1,469 yards and 12 touchdowns, which was good enough to be among the top five running backs of the Germany’s top division.
McCoy will be will his team on April 22 when the Berlin Rebels travel to Milan to meet Italy’s Milano Seamen in a Big6 Europe match.
