The German Football League’s Ravensburg Razorbacks have signed one of Europe’s top running backs, Lennies McFerren (Southeast Missouri State, NCAA Div. I FCS) for the 2021 season.
This will be McFerren’s second season with Ravensburg. In 2017, he helped the team to an 8-3-1 season in the GFL2.
The Razorbacks won the GFL2 South division in 2019 and then defeated the Kirchdorf Wildcats in the two-game promotion/relegation series to qualify to play in the GFL. With the 2020 season cancelled due to the pandemic, the 2021 season will be the first for Ravensburg in the top league.
The 29 year old McFerren, 5’9″, 200 pounds, is a native of New Madrid, Missouri, but now calls Paris, Tennessee as his hometown, He spent the 2019 season in the German Football League with the Allgäu Comets, rushing for 794 yards and eight touchdowns in 12 games. The year before, he played seven games with the Braunschweig New Yorker Lions before suffering an injury. He rushed for 412 yards and seven touchdowns. While playing for the Razorbacks in 2017, he rushed for 1,985 yards and 26 touchdowns averaging 6.1 yards a carry.
In his senior year at Southeast Missouri State (2014) he rushed for 607 yards, averaging almost five yards a carry.
