Germany’s Kirchdorf Wildcats sign top Austrian WR Clemens Erlsbacher

The Kirchdorf Wildcats, who are moving up to the German Football League in 2018, have snagged one of Austria top receivers in Clemens Erlsbacher.

The 5’11”. 175 lb 24 year old Erlsbacher, a native of Innsbruck, Austria, is a product of the Swarco Raiders program and spent his entire 10 year career with the Raiders. He was a member of the Austrian Junior national team that won the European championship in Sevilla, Spain in 2011 and which finished fourth at the Junior World Championships in Texas. He graduated to the senior team helping them to a second place finish in the 2014 European Championships.

A mainstay for the Raiders, he was the MVP of the 2013 Austrian semifinals which saw Swarco defeat the Graz Giants 52-49.  In that game, Elrsbacher caught 6 passes for 163 yards, accumulating 123 yards on 2 kickoff returns and finally adding 14 points to his name through 3 field goals and 5 extra points.

As a member of the Raiders, Erlsbacher has won three Austrian titles and one Eurobowl championship.

He took a year away from football to focus on his studies.

The Kirchdorf Wildcats advanced to the German Football League following a 9-2-1 season in 2017 which saw them win their last seven games of the season including a 43-19 trouncing of the Saarland Hurricanes in the relegation playoff game.
