The Kiel Baltic Hurricanes of the German Football League have signed former Marseille Blue Stars quarterback, Kaleb Scott.
The 6′ 3″, 245-pound native of Mount Albert, Ontario is entering his first season in Germany. His new team, the Hurricanes, had a tough year in 2022, finishing with a record of 2-1-8, second-worst record in the GFL North.
Before he arrived in Germany, Scott was the starting quarterback for the Blue Stars for the 2020 and 2022 seasons in the Division 1 Elite Championship in France and had MVP-caliber numbers in the 14 games he played. For his statistics, he went 13-1, throwing for 3,106 yards, 44 touchdowns while rushing for 470 yards and five touchdowns.
The 2022 season in particular was exceptional for Scott as he led Marseilles to a 9-1 record, tops in Conference B, earning a first round bye and home field in the semifinals. Unfortunately, they were knocked off by the Thonon Black Panthers 28-27.
During his amateur career, he went to Malone University (Div. II) in Canton, Ohio for his redshirt freshman season in 2014, then spent the next two years Lenoir-Rhyne University (Div. II) in Hickory, North Carolina where he also got little playing time. Scott would finally get his chance to start back home when he played for St. Mary’s University (USports) in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. While in Canada, he went 14-3 as a starter, throwing for 4,494 yards and 17 touchdowns while rushing for 1,209 yards and another six scores. With his stellar play, Scott was named an AUS all-star and Offensive MVP in 2017 and the Team MVP and Offensive MVP in 2018.
