Germany: Dresden Monarchs bring in former Michigan State WR Macgarrett Kings Jr. for playoff run

The Dresden Monarchs of the German Football League have announced the signing of former Michigan State Spartan wide receiver Macgarrett Kings Jr.

The 5-10, 192 pound native of Fort Lauderdale, Florida most recently played for the Green Bay Blizzards in the Indoor Football League.

The 30 year old was a four-year letterwinner at Michigan State notching 116 catches for 1,461 yards (12.6 avg.) and nine touchdowns in 48 career games, including 14 starts. He finished his career tied for 17th in MSU history with 116 receptions and was a regular in the playing rotation at flanker for three seasons (2013-15) and also was the team’s starting punt returner for two seasons (2014-15). He finished his career ranked tied for eighth in MSU history with 50 punt returns and 13th with 366 punt return yards (7.3 avg.). Kings Jr. also had 93 rushing yards on 20 carries (4.7 avg.). He collected 1,936 all-purpose yards (40.3 ypg.) in his career.

The Monarchs, who finished second in the GFL North, are preparing for their quarterfinal matchup against the GFL South #3 team, the Straubing Spiders, September 21.
