Germany: Berlin Rebels sign sure-handed WR Jordan Paul

The Berlin Rebels have signed one of the finest receivers in Europe as Jordan Paul joins the club for the 2020 season.

The 6’3″, 215 lb Paul, a native of Brooklyn, New York,  finished his college football career at the University of Charleston (NCAA Div. II) after transferring from Gardner Webb (NCAA Div. I). He served both as a quarterback and wide receiver.

After signing with the Allgäu Comets in 2018, Paul proceeded to become one of the most prolific receivers in the German Football League, catching 123 passes for 1,324 yards and 14 touchdowns. A foot injury severely hurt his production in 2019, dropping it down to a mere 216 yards on 25 receptions.

Paul spent part of the 2017 season as quarterback for the Torino Giaguari in Italy.

The Berlin Rebels finished fourth in the GFL North in 2019 and were eliminated in the quarterfinal round of the playoffs by the Schwäbisch Hall Unicorns losing to them 45-24.

Paul explains the reason for signing with the Rebels:

“I chose the Berlin Rebels for the 2020 season because of the good program reputation of being a very competitive, team oriented and possessing the same drive I have toward winning a German Bowl. I have never been to Berlin but I am very excited to play in a city atmosphere that I am sure will remind me of my home in New York City.”

Rebels head  coach Joshua Mandel:

“It is a pleasure to have Jordan join our team and organization. We are thrilled to have a high level player, hard worker and positive attitude as we build for the future in reaching our goals”
