The Berlin Rebels have announced that running back Dwight Caulker from Great Britain is returning to the team for the 2024 German Football League season.
The 5’10”, 205 pound 27 year old native of Enfield, England spent part of the 2022 season with the Rebels and in nine games carried the ball 39 times for 309 yards and three touchdowns averaging eight yards a carry before an injury sidelined him. He also caught seven passes for 72 yards and returned 10 kickoffs for 234 yards.
Before joining the Rebels, Caulker spent part of the 2021 season with the Düsseldorf Panther where he had limited playing time. He had originally arrived in Germany with the Solingen Paladins in 2019 where as one of the backup running backs he rushed for 232 yards and a touchdown. He also had 10 kickoff returns for 193 yards and, playing as a safety led the team in interceptions with three.
He was a member of the London Blitz junior and senior teams before coming to Germany and helped the juniors win the British title three times while being named London Blitz junior player of the year and offensive player of the year. While playing for the senior squad he was also named Player of the Year.
