German Football League semifinalists, the Frankfurt Universe, have signed Russian/American running back Gennadiy Adams to boost their ground game for the 2020 season.
Adams was the second leading rusher in the GFL in 2019 playing for the Potsdam Royals amassing 1,246 yards and 15 touchdowns on 250 carries. The Universe finished the 2019 as the ninth-ranked rushing team in the league.
The 5’9″, 210 lb Adams, a native of Phoenix, Arizona, attended Benmidji State University (Minnesota) (NCAA Div. II) for the last two years of his college career, recording 1,246 yards rushing and 12 touchdowns while catching 20 passes for 271 yards and another four touchdowns. He was a two-year member of the Simon Fraser University football team in Burnaby, B.C., Canada in 2013 and 2014 where he averaged 6.3 yards per carry in 10 games in 2014.
