The German Football League heads into the seventh round of play with 10 of the league’s 15 teams in action.
The Braunschweig New Yorker Lions will try to keep the momentum going after earning their first win of the year last week against the Kirchdorf Wildcats. They head south to face the Saarland Hurricanes in their only interconference game of the year. Saarland are in a similar situation and badly need to get back on track. They have one of the best offenses in the GFL but by far the worst defense. The Berlin Rebels travel to Kiel to face the Hurricanes. The Rebels have now lost two in a row while Kiel has dropped three straight. They need a home win badly while Berlin needs to right the ship. The Dresden Monarchs put their unbeaten record on the line when the surging Berlin Adler come to town. The Monarchs boast the toughest defense in the GFL allowing a mere eight points a game. The Adler will have their work cut out for them.
The Schwäbish Hall Unicorns have opened the season by winning three in a row and will be traveling to Munich to face a Cowboys squad that lost its first game of the season to the lowly Razorbacks. This is a true test for both teams.
Finally, on Sunday, the Allgäu Comets are on the road to face the Ravensburg Razorbacks who narrowly lost to the Hildesheim Invaders last week. Ravensburg had beaten Munich the week before and now seem to on the rise. However, the Comets high scoring offense will no doubt be the deciding factor.
