The Thonon Black Panthers, French finalists in 2017, have bolstered their already impressive offensive line with the addition of Jonathan Rijo-Estevez.
The 6’2″, 320 lb, 25 year old Rijo-Estevez spent the 2017 season with the surprising Murcia Cobras in the Spanish league, helping the team reach the Spanish semifinals in their first year in the top division.
A native of Queens, New York, Rijo-Estevez played at Lincoln University (NCAA Div. II) where he formed part of an offensive line that helped the Lions rush for over 3,479 yards in 2014 and 2015. He played in the FCS Bowl Game in 2015 as well as the All American Bowl Game and the Dream Bowl Game in 2016.
The Black Panthers led the French league in rushing in 2017 and obviously intend to continue to do so in 2018.
