The French D1 Elite league heads into the second last weekend of the 2024 regular season with nine of the 11 teams still in contention for the playoffs.
Six potential playoff teams will be in action this weekend.
The Conference B leaders, the Marseille Blue Stars (7-1-0) will be on the road to face the last place Aix Argonautes (1-6). The Blue Stars have clinched first place in the conference with two games left and may begin resting starters with the Argonautes out of the playoff picture. The Toulouse Ours (3-5) will play host to the Nice Daupins (3-4) in a crucial Conference B matchup with both teams battling for the third and final playoff berth. The Dauphins defeated the Ours 20-9 in the first game between the two earlier this season. In Conference A, surprisingly, the defending champion Thonon Black Panthers (2-3-1) will be fighting for the final playoff spot when they square off against the Rouen Leopards (3-1-2). These two teams played to a 34-34 tie earlier in the year. In fact, Thonon has three tie games, putting them in danger of missing the playoffs. Finally, Sunday’s matchup will see the Asneries Molosses (2-1-3) host the Saint-Ouen Cougars (1-6) in a game that the Molosses desperately needs to win to have a chance to reach the post season.
