The Marseille Blue Stars of the French Elite have brought back Canadian dual-threat passer Kaleb Scott.
Head coach Bavuong Souphanthavong is thrilled to have Scott back as part of the Blue Star family:
The decision to re-sign Kaleb was quite easy, we have a great group of guys this season to contend for the title. Besides his high quality as a player, Kaleb is a part of the Blue stars family. He is a great leader and person. Both of us have a bitter taste of the unfinished season in 2019, so the signing was natural.”
The 6’3″ 200-pound, Mount Albert, Ontario native quarterbacked the Blue Stars for four games in early 2020 before the COVID-19 pandemic cancelled the season and the following 2021 season. Scott and the Blue Stars were off to a hot start together nearly two years ago as Marseille was undefeated behind 13 total touchdowns and 1,109 total yards from their Canadian signal caller.
Before heading to southern France, Scott spent the 2017 and 2018 seasons with the Saint Mary’s Huskies in Halifax, Nova Scotia helping them to a 14-3 record over the two years, throwing for 4,494 yards and 17 touchdowns while rushing for 1,209 yards and six touchdowns. He had returned to Canada after two stints with NCAA Division II schools.
He first attended Malone University in Canton, Ohio in 2014. As a true freshman, Scott played in eight games, throwing for 639 yards and three scores while adding four more touchdowns and 142 yards on the ground. The dual threat passer then transferred to Lenoir-Rhyne University in Hickory, North Carolina for the 2015 and 2016 seasons. During his time with the Bears, Scott threw for 231 yards and ran for another 115.
