Flash de La Courneuve take down the Las Rozas Black Demons in CEFL quarterfinal

This last weekend, the Spanish champion Las Rozas Black Demons took on France’s Flash de La Courneuve. Both teams fought hard, but it would be the Flash who would come out victorious with a 25-14 win.

To start off the game, the Flash were able to spot themselves with a 10-point lead. After an opening drive touchdown pass from Léo Cremades to François Bremond and a fumble recovery that turned into a field goal. The team from France would find themselves with a 10-0 lead.

After a mishap on their first drive, Las Rozas would answer as Black Demons QB Theo Landers found Jorge García Varga for a 41-yard touchdown. Making the score 10-7.

After stopping the Flash, the Black Demons offense would turn the ball over again. This turnover would turn into another field goal for the French team as they would take a 13-7 lead heading into the half.

The start of the second half would be completely quiet until the Black Demons would finally figure things out on offense at the end of the 3rd period. After a long methodical drive, Las Rozas QB Theo Landers would find the endzone on his own, giving his team the small 13-14 lead heading into the 4th quarter.

After not scoring all of the 3rd quarter, the Flash were able to regain the lead in the 4th from running back Baptiste Aubert marching down the field and punching himself into the endzone.

With a score of 19-14, the Black Demons had a chance to get the lead back. However, Las Rozas would commit their third turnover of the game as Landers would be intercepted by Jordy Adjetey-Adjevi.

From this point on the Flash would just try and waste time to get the win. Yet, the Black Demons defense would be unable to hold for much longer as Flash QB Cremades would find Ben Von Jagow for a 25-yard score. This would be the last points of the game, making the final score 25-14.

Punching their ticket to the semifinals, the Flash will host the Parma Panthers on June 3rd for a chance to play in the CEFL Championship.
