Flag Football: Inaugural Dorado Bowl tournament set for Spain

Flag football is growing in popularity throughout the world and some of the finest is played in Europe.

This year, a new cash prize tournament will be launched in Cambrils, Spain, the Dorado Bowl. The brainchild of the organizers of the Champions Bowl over the last three years, the Dorado Bowl will run from April 1 to April 3 and offer up to $9,000 in prize money to the winning teams.

Cambrils is located about 90 minutes by car south of Barcelona with excellent facilities for hosting a flag tournament. The event is being organized by Big Ten Events in association with Cambrils Park Resort & Futbol Salou.

A total of 64 teams – 32 men’s and 32 women’s teams – will compete over the three-day tournament.

Accommodation

Cambrils Park Resort is one of the top campgrounds in the Spanish province of Catalonia. The accommodations are located only 900 meters from the fields with each group hosted in a 4-5 bed bungalows, situated in the Caribbean Area. All resort facilities will be available for the entire tournament.

Free shuttle bus service will be available for transport to and from the fields every day between 8:00 to 9:30 am and from 6-8 pm.

Airport shuttle

A free round-trip shuttle service from Barcelona Airport to the resort will be available.

Tournament

A total of 64 teams will be allowed with 32 teams in each competition category: Ladies & Men.
Winners will receive a prize of 3,000€ ($3,400) and second place 1,000€ ($1,150).

Cost

The cost for the entire tournament is 269€ ($300) per person. This includes:
• Accommodation:
–  Dinner and overnight on Thursday, full board on Friday and Saturday, breakfast and lunch on Sunday.
• Shuttle Service from/to Barcelona Airport.
• Tournament Gift.
• Lifetime Experience, DJ, photos, videos, etc.

There is an option to stay one more night for 45€, including Sunday night accommodation and breakfast on Monday.
