Last weekend Italian Football League was headlined by a showdown in the top league’s North Conference, the second Milano derby between Rhinos (7-0) and Seamen (2-5). The Rhinos scored late to pull ahead and held on to a 34-33 victory in what was a great show at the Arena di Milano.
At the Tardini in Parma, the host Panthers (5-2) beat the visiting Torino Giaguari (3-4) 52-20. The Bolzano Giants (3-3) who topped the Bergamo 34-20 mathematically eliminated the Lions (1-7) from playoff contention this season.
In the South Conference, the Firenze Guelfi (4-3) surprised everyone, dominating the high powered Lazio Marines (5-2) 31-6 at home for their fourth consecutive victory and third place in the group.
In Rome, the match between Roma Grizzlies (2-5) and Ferrara Aquile (3-4) ended 42-36 in overtime and in favor of the hosts, while in Ancona (7-0), the Dolphins continued their unbeaten season blowing out Bologna 41-6, and ending the Warriors (0-7) post-season hopes.
