The defending Maple League champions, the Kuopio Steelers, have re-signed running back Le’Anthony Reasnover.
The 5’9″, 209-pound native of St. Anne, Illinois is returning for his third season in Finland. In 2022, the Steelers won Maple Bowl XLIII, beating the Seinäjoki Crocodiles for their third straight championship. Now, Reasonver will try to help his team get a four-peat. Since joining Kuopio in 2021, Reasnover has amassed 3,015 rushing yards and 45 touchdowns on 376 attempts, earning a rushing title, two touchdown scoring titles, an MVP award and back-to-back championships.
The 25-year old running back extended his stellar play from the previous year, rushing for a league high 1,763 yards and 30 touchdowns, averaging 146.9 yards per game, and winning multiple awards including the scoring title, offensive player of the year award and MVP honors.
Before arriving in Finland, he played collegiately at Eureka College (Div. III) from 2015-2019 where he rushed for over 6,000 yards, scoring 99 touchdowns and was twice named AFCA All-American, Offensive Player of the Year and was the statistical champion in 2018. Eureka was dominant with him on the field too, as the college won their conference in both 2017 and 2018.
